Flash Card Maker Pro uses text-to-speech to read cards back to users during the playback mode if requested. The text-to-speech audio features reinforce the learning process by stimulating the hearing sensors in the brain. If the Android text-to-speech engine is not detected on your device during playback the application will automatically direct you to the free download in the Android Market. This download is required in order for the application to work properly.
|Tab LayoutThis post is designed to help you get started using Flash Card Maker Pro. There are three tabs within the flash card application: (1) Play, (2) Edit, and (3) Help. The Play tab allows users to select a deck of cards for playback. The Edit tab allows users to modify the deck details and add new cards. The Edit tab also allows users to perform a backup and restore of the flash card database. The Help tab contains a brief summary explaining simple tasks within Flash Card Maker Pro. Please note that modifications to the decks or cards are saved automatically. To exit a screen or form just press the back button on your phone.|
|Add a New DeckFrom the Play or Edit tab click the menu button on your phone and select the “Add New Deck” button. Type a description of your deck in the text box provided. When complete press the menu button again and select the “Add New Card” button. Changes to your deck are automatically saved upon exit. If you would like to change the title of your deck perform a long press on the deck within the list and select the “Edit Title” option. Deleting decks can be accomplished in the same manner by performing a long press on the corresponding deck in the list and by selecting the “Delete Record” option.|
|Add a New CardFrom the Edit tab select a deck of cards from the list or create a new deck of cards. Press the menu button on the phone and select the “Add New Card” button. Complete the form provided including the question, answer, font size, etc… Please make sure to read the Flash Card Tips and Tricks post to get some ideas on how to maximize your learning experience. If you hide a card it will not be visible in the playback mode. There is no save button so when you are finished creating the card press the back button on your phone to return to the deck. Delete a card in the deck by performing a long press on the corresponding card in the list and by selecting the “Delete Record” option.|
|Change Order of CardsFrom the Edit tab select a deck of cards and then press the menu button. Select the Sort List option from the list. Drag-n-Drop the card into the desired location. When complete press the menu button and select Save Sort Order. If you make a mistake and want to revert the list back to its original order press the menu button and select Revert.|
Make Flash Cards Using Computer
Users can make decks of cards with a computer and later import them to their phone via email or copy and paste to an SD Card. A file browsing application like Astro File Manager will be necessary to import decks from an SD Card. The flash card deck text files must also be formatted in a specific way to load successfully within Flash Card Maker Pro application. Please note that downloading files directly to your Android device from the developer website will not work unless done with teh Mozilla Fennec browser.
